What book has significantly influenced your life? What are your key takeaways from that book?
I read a book called The Top 5 Regrets of the Dying that was written by a palliative care nurse called Bronnie Ware who identified common trends from people at the end of their lives in terms of regrets which were:
- I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
- I wish I hadn’t worked so hard.
- I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings.
- I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.
- I wish that I had let myself be happier.
I realised that if I didn’t make some big changes in my life and start to put myself first more, then I would have the same regrets at the end of my life. This kickstarted my personal development journey, and I haven’t looked back.
If you received an extra $10,000 to spend on your business, how would you spend it and why?
On my own continued personal development. I know that this work is never done, and I’m committed to consistently doing the work I need to do to ensure that I’m the best version of myself so I can help my clients be the best version of themselves.
When you feel overwhelmed, stressed, or have lost your focus or motivation, what do you do?
I actually focus on prevention as opposed to a cure and am proactive in having daily habits and routines that serve and support me in living the life that I want to live and being the person I want to be.
I believe our habits make us or break us. Motivation gets us started, but it’s our habits that get us to the end result. A key part of the work I do with my clients is looking at their habits and ensuring what they do daily gets them to where they want to be.
If you could put a message on a huge billboard — getting a message out to millions — what would it say and why?
“Don’t wait until you’re ready as you will be waiting forever.”
I see so many women telling themselves that they can’t get started with creating the life that they want because they don’t feel ready. Confidence comes from doing the thing. You don’t need to know the whole journey, just figure out the first tiny step and take it, and if you’re struggling to figure it out alone, get help. There will never be a perfect time. Life is now.
