Tell us about your journey as a coach.
I always say that I popped into this world destined to work in the world of “love” because my name in French means “I love” (if it’s spelled “J’aime”). For as long as I can remember, I have always loved everything about love. Since I know how life-changing love is, it has become my mission to inspire people to do everything they can to be in fulfilling, deeply-connected, purpose-filled, meaningful, heart-connected, and soul-connected loving relationships. I want people to know that everyone deserves love and is capable of having love in their lives.
My love and fascination for psychology started in my first psychology class in high school. I couldn’t get enough of learning how and why people operate the way they do, so essentially, I have never stopped studying and learning everything I can about human emotions and behavior from that day forward.
My parents were a huge inspiration to me and they still are, as they have been married for 51 years. Part of my mission is to show the world that authentic love exists and no one has to settle.
My business has grown exponentially over the years. Sharing content consistently with my audience through my show, “Love Talk Live” on LA Talk Radio, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube, being a guest on podcasts, sending my newsletter, posting on social media, and being on various media outlets such as news, radio, and articles have all contributed to my growing audience. It’s quite validating to know that I am inspiring lives, as that is my ultimate goal. Changing lives for the better is why I do what I do!
What advice or perspective might you give to a new coach trying to get their first clients?
Create content consistently and post on as many platforms as possible. Join Facebook groups with people who are in the same line of work as you. You can collaborate with them so their audiences find you and yours finds them. I am not an expert at ads; however, I know that they can help, so I recommend finding someone who specializes in ads. And finally, BE PATIENT. The right clients for you will find you at the right time. Just like when you’re looking for love, you need to trust that the right person and you will find each other when the time is right.
What are some of your favorite affirmations, mantras, thoughts, and/or journal prompts currently? Why?
- “What you are seeking, is seeking you.”
- “Our outside experiences are a reflection of our inner reality.” You need to be showing up in life as your authentic self in order to manifest what is supposed to come into your life. If you are showing up as anything but yourself, you will attract the reflection of that.
- “Trust your gut—no matter what”. You don’t need to ask anyone for advice—you are the expert of you. You ALWAYS know the answer. Trust it!
- “Honor your voice and your feelings and express them.” Don’t let anyone tell you how to feel, and don’t be afraid to share how you are feeling for fear of the outcome. Have no attachment to the outcome. The people that are supposed to stick around will, and the opportunities that are supposed to work out for you will, as long as you are staying in your integrity and honoring yourself.
When you feel overwhelmed, stressed, or have lost your focus or motivation, what do you do?
When I find myself in overworking mode, I need to tell myself to take a break so I can gain some altitude away from being “in it,” especially when I’m creating content. In order to be able to show up and be present for my husband, son, and clients, I need to make sure that I am taking care of myself.
I recommend exercising, watching a “mindless” show, listening to an inspirational podcast, or spending time with family and friends in the world, at a restaurant, laughing. It refuels me, and it will refuel you too!
If you could put a message on a huge billboard—getting a message out to millions—what would it say and why?
“Trust your intuition—it’s always right!”
Is there anything else you’d like to add?
Never let anyone or anything stop you from going after your dreams. Don’t worry if someone has already done what you want to do. You are unique and have unique gifts to offer the world. Don’t stay small. Shine! Live big. Live an extraordinary life because the truth is that life is short!
