Tell us about your journey as a coach.

I started my coaching career 5 years ago, but my journey began long before that. It all started when I was 15 years old and hospitalized for depression. It was during that time I decided, “I will never go back to this darkness.”

I was a high achiever who always put others first. In the past, I never worried about my health until I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. My friends and family started noticing my mood swings. I often snapped at people when I felt under extreme pressure and overwhelmed, but I didn’t know how to stop being so irritable. Finally, I tried to show how valuable I was by starting a business in the Middle East.

I read many books, listened to podcasts, and meditated. I did this to help myself recover from burnout and to overcome all my health and career challenges. I attended a course in NLP that healed my suppressed emotions (that I didn’t know existed). I only then discovered who I truly am without all the suppressed emotions, traumas, and expectations.

I developed a passion for everything related to well-being, which led me to become a life coach. Traumas from childhood can affect our adult lives more than we can imagine. It’s been a long journey, but it was so worth it!

What courses, programs, or certifications have you done? Would you recommend them, and for whom?

I have received multiple certifications from the Robert Simic Institute in the UAE in coaching skills, such as NLP Coach, Life Coach, Hypnotist, and Time Paradigm Techniques Practitioner.

Additionally, I am a certified Family Constellation Facilitator and Systemic Coach by Cognial Healers Academy, accredited by the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine.

I would definitely recommend these institutes as they allowed me to expand my knowledge of various therapeutic techniques, their application in a professional manner, and the opportunity to connect with other experts in the field.

What advice or perspective might you give to a new coach trying to get their first clients?

My first and most important piece of advice is to GO FOR IT. I often see this hesitation with many fellow coaches who are starting their businesses. It makes me sad to know that many go through the intensive process to get certified and do not end up practicing their profession.

As entrepreneurs, of course, we will go through ups and downs with our businesses. We will have limiting financial beliefs, perfectionism dilemmas, and social anxiety at the thought of reaching out to people and promoting our services.

However, if we just maintain the perspective of “I will start when the perfect moment comes,” it will be detrimental because there is no perfect moment; there is just you leveling up your desires alongside the responsibility of facing your fears.

What are your thoughts on “choosing a niche” as a coach?

When I first began my coaching career, the concept of “niche” was practically nonexistent. I worked with people with all types of challenges, which I could help them overcome with my skills.

Around 3 years later, I began thinking about it as I received helpful insight from marketing specialists about the importance of niching down to attract my perfect client. I had to ask some questions to clarify the characteristics of my ideal client, the specific type of transformation I wanted to help them achieve, and my personal experience with NLP.

…there is no perfect moment; there is just you leveling up your desires alongside the responsibility of facing your fears.

I realized that I wanted to mostly help clients with releasing suppressed trauma which was affecting their level of confidence. Right after I became aware of that, I attracted these types of clients, but I remained open as well to other types of challenges they or any other clients would have.

It can be an overwhelming process to identify your niche, especially at the beginning of your career, so IT’S OKAY to not have one and take your time with figuring it out later.

What books have significantly influenced your life? What are your key takeaways from these books?

You Can Heal Your Life by Louis Hay is definitely a book I keep coming back to because it’s so rich in knowledge and has genuinely guided me greatly on my personal healing journey as well as my coaching practice. It’s such a blessing to have a good relationship with your body and understand why it functions the way it does.

Another book I recommend to those interested in pursuing a coaching career is NLP: The Essential Guide to Neuro-Linguistic Programming. It’s a simple breakdown of the techniques used and their effect on us.

If you could put a message on a huge billboard—getting a message out to millions—what would it say and why?

“You can have whatever you want in this life or your reasons for not having it. The choice is yours.”
