Tell us about your journey as a coach.
I’ve been coaching for most of my life, but did my formal training almost two years ago, and it made such a big difference. I learned how to be a rapt listener, to be non-judgmental, and to help people discover what THEY should do, and not what I would do if I were them.
I am a wife and a mom of four children, an author, a newspaper columnist, a musician, a homemaker, a runner, and a cook. Along the way in this journey, I have met many other coaches, and always stop to converse and share experiences. I have found that most people are happy to share (as am I!) and really have a lot to learn from those around me.
I got my first clients off of my website which at the time was well-optimized, and have since had more success from Instagram and referrals or word-of-mouth. Over time, I have shifted my ideal avatar and have also added to my practice “Rapid Resolution Therapy,” after going through rigorous training. It helps in the removal of pain, anxiety, depression, addiction, etc, and as the name promises, it’s rapid. This enable my clients to effectively remove what holds them back from living freely and fully.
I’m looking to continue to grow my practice, as the world always shifts and changes and creates new opportunities, niches, and learning moments.
What are some coach certification programs you’ve done? Would you recommend them?
I did the Refuah Agency AAPC program, Next Level Coaching to grow my business, and Rapid Resolution Therapy to add a new dimension to my practice.
I’d recommend them all.
What are some of your favorite mantras, thoughts, or journal prompts?
Mantras:
- Tell me who your friends are, I’ll tell you who you are.
- You can save your marriage by working alone.
- Stay in your lane.
- No relationship is all sunshine, but two people can share one umbrella, and survive the storm together.
Journal prompts:
- What is one moment where you felt everything was aligned for you?
- What is a time when you felt completely alone?
What are your thoughts on “choosing a niche” as a coach?
I didn’t agree at first because I thought it would limit my business. But the truth is, there a millions of people out there and most of us have the same problems that need to be solved. Carving a niche makes you a respected specialist and you can hone your craft in that area, making for a better end result for your clients.
What books have most influenced your life and why?
I love Laura Doyle’s “Empowered Wife.” It’s old school thinking that really works and also so needed by women in today’s day and age.
I also love “The Secret.” Both of these books have greatly influenced my own life as they have shifted how I am as a wife, my perspective on marriage, and also how to get the things I most desire, and take control of my situation.
What purchase of $100 or less has most positively impacted your life recently?
Some good makeup, preferably with a slight tint or tan. Having a fresh, enhanced face is great for Zoom calls when that’s all your clients really see!
What advice would you give to a new life coach?
Get on social media – it’s the best, fastest, cost-effective way to get out there and promote your ideas. Also, promote your ideas. Give out freebies. It creates a sense of identity and people will take the bait and want more.
If you had an extra $10,000 to spend on your business, how would you spend it and why?
Hiring a marketing exec to do back end marketing for me. It’s my biggest weakness.
When you feel overwhelmed or unfocused, what do you do?
When I feel unfocused or lost, I generally stop what I’m doing and pick up another task, and return at a later time when I feel refreshed.
In the last five years, what new belief, behavior, or habit has most improved your life?
My renewed belief in God. And that I can manifest the results I want by shifting my mindset.
If you put a message on a huge billboard — getting a message out to millions — what would it say and why?
All relationships are hard. Yours doesn’t have to be.
